Infiniti has been teasing us with this hybrid concept super car for a couple of years now, but just recently it was shown at a 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The two-seater Infiniti Emerg-E has a hybrid drivetrain and uses two electric motors with a lithium-ion battery pack, four inverters and a range-extending 3-cylinder petrol powerplant. Its combined horsepower is 402, which, in my opinion, is quite low for a super car. However, it has a massive 738 pounds of torque, which allows it to accelerate to 60 in about 4 seconds.
Check out the Inside Line short review of the Emerg-E:
Agreed. I feel like the automotive industry is taking a big leap forward with a new perspective on cars. Many companies are making hybrid cars with biengines for a higher output of torque and a better fuel economy.
