Yasayuki Yoshinaga, the present of Fuji Heavy Industries, stated that the Subaru plant in Ota City, Japan, will produce at least 100,000 units. There have already been 7000 special orders for the Toyota GT86, and 2500 orders for the Subaru BRZ. Subaru was only planning to sell 6000 BRZ sport cars in the United States in the first year of production. The BRZ base model will start at an affordable price of around $24,000.
